LOCTITE® 5772
LOCTITE® 5772 is a yellow, medium strength, thixotropic thread sealant designed for locking and sealing metal threaded pipes and fittings up to 80 mm (3″). Its dimethacrylate ester formula contains low sulphur and halogen, making it safe for use with sensitive metals including titanium and stainless steel without requiring primer. It cures reliably in confined spaces to prevent leaks and loosening from vibration and shock.
LOCTITE® 5772 is a single component, anaerobic adhesive that cures between close fitting metal threads in the absence of air. This results in a robust seal suitable for demanding applications, especially in the nuclear and industrial sectors. Its thixotropic viscosity makes application easy and clean, with minimal migration post application. It delivers dependable performance on sensitive metals without primer, and assures thread-locking and sealing in pressurised systems.

Applications
Apply a 360° bead to the leading threads (male) of cleaned fittings and tighten to specification. Cure for at least 24 hours for maximum strength, but moderate pressure resistance is achieved instantly. For stainless steel, use Activator 7471 or 7649 to accelerate cure. Disassembly can be achieved by standard tools or applying ~250 °C heat.
